Magnet Switch Mini Magnet Reed Module Sensor

The KY-021 Magnet Switch, also called Mini Magnet Reed Module Sensor, is an electronic component used to detect the proximity of magnetic fields. It consists of a reed contact mounted in a small housing and an integrated circuit that monitors the reed contact. The reed contact consists of two metal sheets enclosed in a glass tube. When a magnetic field is present near the reed contact, the metal sheets are attracted and touch, making electrical contact. This contact can be measured By a microcontroller or other control unit to detect the proximity of magnetic fields. The KY-021 can be used in various applications, e.g. in security alarm systems, in industry to determine the position of machine components or in robots to detect metal objects.
